The Original Organic Fair trade farm fresh food company is looking for a hardworking, positive and innovative thinker and communicator to join our team at Del Cabo as a Sales Manager in beautiful Pescadero, CA. 

As a Sales Manager you are responsible for leading and managing the Del Cabo Sales Team. You will collaborate with our Jacobs Farm Herb Sales team to create dynamic cross promotions with our many other customers’ product categories.

Requirements: 
  • 7+ years sales management experience
  • Positive attitude with excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial and experience in forecasting and sales planning
  • Passion for organics, empowering small growers, and selling great tasting food
  • Existing customer relationships and experience with all channels: Retail, foodservice, wholesale
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for managing projects to conclusion on time.
  • Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Design and communicate long and short term strategies for maximum sales team effectiveness
  • Supervise sales team and assist them in reaching their maximum potential as individuals, with their accounts, their communication, and their work. Offer inspiration and training of sales personnel on how to attain business and sales objectives.
  • Support outstanding working relationships between the sales department and the other company colleagues and departments.
  • Inform planning department of product needs and markets to ensure informed and cost effective procurement strategy.
  • Provide company leadership with prompt market insights, competitive analysis, and opportunities. 
  • Make recommendations for hiring additional staff and identify other resources needed for sales team to accomplish target objectives and goals.
  • Take part in interview of candidates while supporting decision making to hire successful applicants.
  • Assist team members to intensify sales via training on sales methods and processes. Generate action plans to enhance performance and productive capacity of underperforming personnel or products.
  • Participate in performance appraisals and reviews, award praise or corrective action where needed.
  • Develop new customer relationships to expand the Company’s customer and product base. 
  • Maintain awareness of the complete customer base and participate in strategic planning, analysis, and region and channel forecasting.
  • Maximize the profitability of sales, market positioning, and business growth of Del Cabo grower community products and regions.
  • Responsible for product and market pricing strategy 
  • Support the Introduction of new items, commodities, and product extensions. 
  • Become involved in JFDC New Product Development Process.
  • Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks in order to recommend tactical strategies.
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop relationships.
