Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Transportation/ Logistics Manager in Arvin, California.
Coordinate and manage transportation and logistics services for all Grimmway Farms divisions related to trucking and hauling services. Establish and maintain relationships with strategic trucking companies and haulers.
Requirements:
- Employee will manage the Transportation and Logistics department responsible for all transportation and freight transactions within organization
Qualifications:
- Candidate will have knowledge and experience in logistics and supply chain operations with the ability develop key strategic relationships with freight carriers and outside warehouse facilities and trucking companies.
- Candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with nearly all departments within the Grimmway family of companies as well as customers and suppliers.
- Experience managing a staff in a fast paced environment where both internal and external customer service expectations must be consistently met.
- Experience and ability to analyze market conditions and negotiate contracts and hauling rates to effectively manage freight costs.
- Ability to develop and maintain metrics to track and analyze cost effectiveness and productivity of internal transportation operations and the performance of outside carriers.
- Strong PC skills required, Automated Warehouse Management Software experience a plus.
- Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen.
