The North American division of a European publicly listed Consumer Goods Company is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to join their senior management team. The role will report to the CEO of North America and to the group Corporate Finance Director.
The ideal candidate will manage the M&A process in North America including developing strategies, identifying opportunities, conducting detailed due diligence, negotiating deal terms and coordinating resources from inception to close.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Constantly developing a deal pipeline.
- Engaging with key business unit and corporate stakeholders across multiple projects to evaluate expansion opportunities.
- Conducting financial planning and analysis activities required to support the development and delivery of business strategy throughout the business.
- Managing the transaction processes from beginning to end including due diligence, valuation and transaction closing.
- Working with existing subsidiary companies to help them source deals and grow their businesses via M&A activity.
- Developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and assisting in building relationships with key players in the industry.
- Routinely making strategic recommendations and contributing to the team’s thought leadership on inorganic growth.
Ideal Candidate:
- First class academic background. (MBA, CPA, ACA or ACCA a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant role (Investment Banking/Corporate Finance / M&A role or within a corporate development role.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a self-starter.
- Experience working with senior executives and interacting with board members.
- Willingness to travel within USA/Canada
