JOB FILLED - Director of Sales

Job Description: 

Director of Sales is responsible for the sale of all products and management of all finished goods inventory in such a way as to maximize total contribution dollars to the company, for developing and supporting systems and teams that maximize the optimization of those programs in a way that is both sustainable and customer-focused, is a person who exemplifies the culture and values of our company, and who also seeks out and provides opportunities and options for continuous improvement, departmental growth and evolution.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on company’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain active focus on the market positions/pricing at all times.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
  • Establish performance goals for all sales department employees, and monitor performance on a continual basis.
  • Oversee all recruiting and training of sales personnel.
  • Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers.
  • Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business.
  • Develop and implement an effective strategic sales plan.
  • Monitor and analyze sales/marketing trends.
  • Focus on actual sales, profitability, and growth percentage within the company to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of customers.
  • Serve as the primary sales resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Interact with customers and the sales team to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
  • Seek out and cultivate relationships and professional growth opportunities both within and outside the organization to remain the in house ‘subject matter expert’ in sales.
  • Oversee the management of departmental budgets and labor management to maximize the cost-savings and efficiencies of the department.

Education: 
  • BS/BA with a business/industry applicable area of focus or equivalent work experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work performed in an office and factory settings.
  • Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
  • Occasionally required to lift to 20 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.

Qualifications: 
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and management with 5 years preferably in the food industry.
  • Experience in agricultural products. 
  • Possesses strong problem solving/analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Travel ~ (moderate frequency – 2 to 3-day trips less than once per month – frequency will ebb and flow)
