Job Description: 

As a Key Account Manager, you’ll be aligned to the most strategic retail accounts in the Northeast region, responsible for driving continued aggressive growth and customer engagement. You’ll establish credibility and leverage your expertise across produce buying and selling to identify, develop and execute growth strategies focusing on the core business models of procurement, supply chain management, grower sales programs, and transportation modes. This is a highly visible role, both internally and externally, and your ability to present compelling recommendations, promote data-driven decisions, and influence without authority will be critical to your success. You’ll join an incredibly collaborative, high-energy team that is on a strong growth trajectory.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years of produce sales experience (buying and selling) 
  • Established track record for business account development
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Strong sales relationship building skills
  • Ability to effectively influence others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills (including PowerPoint)
  • Able to learn and navigate multiple systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic)

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Create structure and accountability around business development and sales with current and new customers, with a set of non-negotiables
  • Develop and foster network among division and the enterprise to effectively align resources to customer needs
  • Collaborate with retail customer on strategies for merchandising, SKU mix changes, planograms, and competitive analysis
  • Participate in annual tradeshows and conferences. (PMA, United Fresh etc.)
  • Provide budgetary planning, strategic planning and multi-year goal setting strategies
  • Solicit new business through outside and internal channels
  • Work with the account management and category management teams to further penetrate existing accounts and cross sell all service lines
  • Assist in annual budgeting process for newly generated business and accounts
  • Stay informed on advances and trends within the produce, transportation, and supply chain industries
  • Maintain a monthly sales journal
  • Manage marketing, sales and overall business development strategies
