IMG Citrus, a leading integrated Citrus grower and marketer, based in Vero Beach Florida, is looking for a business developer with proven success in building citrus import programs with leading South Eastern US food retailers. This is a unique entrepreneurial opportunity for a motivated individual to grow the Summer Import Program of a well established Citrus company which is part of a diversified family agribusiness. The right candidate will have opportunity to take more responsibility in leadership.
Located in Indian River County, IMG Citrus operates as one of Florida’s main distributors of fresh citrus. The company is vertically integrated --farming over 5000 acres in Florida, and operating a state of the art Packinghouse, and a newly built refrigerated distribution center. Marketing and sales of Citrus domestically and globally is a core competency of the Company and is supported by an in-house sales/marketing team and Company own production of all Florida citrus. The Citrus Import Business Developer will join the Sales Team with the mission of further developing our summer import program from South America which is in its 3rd year and thus still considered in a start up phase.
Our South American Citrus import project is focusing on imports through the port of Miami for servicing the local South Eastern market in an effort to minimize costs and carbon foot print. We are looking for an entrepreneurial person able to grow this strategically important diversification project. The main responsibility will be to develop import sales programs with key retailers in the South East United States. In addition, the candidate will be involved in maintaining and growing existing and new relationship with citrus growers in South America, negotiate purchasing contracts, facilitate logistics, administrative and operational processes to sustain future growth. arieties: grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. A new area of growth for the Company is a Summer import program from the Southern Hemisphere allowing IMG Citrus to provide year-round citrus to the most demanding customers in the USA and Canada.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in citrus imports from South America and experience with sales programs for leading food retailers in the South-East US (i.e. Publix, Winn Dixie, Kroger, Aldi). Candidates must be able to work independently and be open to working collaboratively in teams.
Strongly preferred to be at Vero Beach, FL office but will consider a Home/Remote location.
