Watsonville Coast Produce, Inc. is a fresh fruit and vegetable wholesaler and distributor with a full line of both organic and conventional product offerings. We currently have a great opportunity for a bilingual Outside Sales Representative with a passion for produce, sales, and being a team player.
The Outside Sales position at Watsonville Coast Produce, Inc. is designed to generate and capture business from outside the organization, which will consist of a territory to include Salinas, Hollister, King City and Watsonville. The main task involves taking orders from existing customers and securing prospective non-member clienteles by telephone communication or by visiting. It is essential for the Outside Sales Rep. to provide effective detailed information on various products, programs or services offered by the company. The ideal candidate will have produce sales experience and proven success in generating and developing non-member business accounts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments, meeting existing customers in order to review product requirements, and to determine other responsibilities
- Effective planning to conduct sales presentations by meeting customers physically on a daily basis
- Designing professional demonstrations of presentations of company products or services while on-site
- Liaising between the company and the customers for up-to-date condition on pricing, service and latest product release launches.
- Generating and developing non-member business accounts in order to increase revenue, through cold calling
- Continuously updating all customers on company product modifications, changes and enhancement’s
- Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner
- Performing updating and maintaining accounts including contact names and numbers for future sales
- Conduct reviews on accounts on regular basis to evaluate clients’ demands and usage of account; determine types of services/products and prices/fees satisfying the clients’ needs as well as the organization’s objectives
- Conduct weekly review of promotional actives to enhance the motivation ad identify development potential to maximize the profit of the organization and clients’ satisfaction
- Ensuring follow-up after passing leads to managers with complete profile customer information, calls-to-action, sources, and dates
Skills & Specifications:
- Produce knowledge a plus – i.e. fruits & vegetables, organic & conventional
- Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information
- Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
- Special people skills to deal with customers and an outbound personality
- Able to prospect non-member accounts
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills - English & Spanish
- Very good team player and should work well under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven forecasting and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs (case of produce)
- Able to ascend and descend stairs
- Able to bend, stoop, push, kneel and reach
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing related field or 4 years work related experience
- Possess valid driver’s license
- Clear Motor Vehicle Report & background screening
- Must be bilingual - English & Spanish
Work Schedule:
Interested candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations.
