Job Description:
Village Farms has almost thirty years of experience in the hydroponics greenhouse industry. Beginning with just ten acres of greenhouse facilities, Village Farms today operates more than 262 acres, and markets an additional 120 acres of greenhouse. We are the leading vegetable greenhouse producer and supplier in North America, and have earned a reputation in the industry.
We are currently looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Marfa/Ft. Davis, TX.
As a Shipping Supervisor you are responsible for ensuring that the shipping team meets required level of service and production, by training and developing team members. You are also responsible for enforcing Village Farms policies and standards.

Requirements:
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Relevant experience (1 – 2 years) preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Good leadership skills.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee the purchasing and receipt of all packaging/packaging related supplies.
- Supervise all aspects of the shipping and receiving operations.
- Assume the Shipper/Receiver responsibilities when they are absent.
- Take over the Gatekeeper’s duties and responsibilities when prearranged.
- Participate in Health and Safety training and initiatives.
- Participate in Food Safety training and initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement training and initiatives.
- Attend/successfully complete continuing education training as requested
- Provide backup for Office Managers for billing local sales customers
- Work with Transportation and scheduling all out going loads to include Monahans, Ft Davis, & Presidio Divisions.
- Provide all training for shipping & receiving to include new procedures, new forms to fill out, assisting as needed at each facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
