Sales Support Representative

Job Description: 

Village Farms has almost thirty years of experience in the hydroponics greenhouse industry. Beginning with just ten acres of greenhouse facilities, Village Farms today operates more than 262 acres, and markets an additional 120 acres of greenhouse. We are the leading vegetable greenhouse producer and supplier in North America, and have earned a reputation in the industry.

We are currently searching for a Sales Support Representative to join our team in Fort Worth, TX.

As the Sales Support Representative you will provide support to the Sales Team by performing a number of administrative tasks including maintaining existing local and food service customer base ensuring maximum profitability and service levels.  You are responsible for coordinating between Sales, Operations and Transportation on a daily basis for order allocations, freight efficiencies and ordering of fresh product to replenish stock.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum of three years’ previous experience in administrative support for Produce, Sales or Warehouse.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines for company and external accounts.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Weekend and evening availability is required for emergency issues; must maintain a mobile device with e-mail capability for contact outside of normal business hours.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Daily inventory management plan to track inbound products and daily sales in order to maintain proper inventory levels and achieve customer objectives.
  • Development of new accounts locally and regionally to expand Village Farms’ presence in the Southwest; develop customers for aged products for proper inventory maintenance.
  • Daily communication with Sales and Transportation.
  • Communication with Production.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends and intelligence gathering via weekly retail store visits.
  • Attend daily Sales conference calls as well as weekly pricing conference calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
