Job Description: 

We’re looking for a dedicated individual who understands the needs and priorities of a fresh produce warehouse and its various operations. For this positon you will need sound leadership skills and general warehouse management experience. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can motivate and mentor team members while overseeing the management of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

The Warehouse Manager will perform a variety of management, administrative and physical functions to ensure the timely and accurate loading and unloading of commodities that transit the warehouse. This position will collaboratively work with the team and staff to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and controls are maintained within the warehouse and subject to continuous improvement.

  • Maintain inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing warehouse; supervising staff.
  • Direct all cold storage warehouse operations including shipping/receiving, inventory control and supervision of forklift drivers and shipping, receiving & cooling staff.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient receipt of product from the production line and outside sources with proper recording of quantities and weights.
  • Supervise the distribution of product, operating within a reasonable first in, first out process while maintaining superior levels of service for our customers.
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety regulations.
  • Provide leadership and work with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment.
  • Analyze production and inventory management operational and administrative problems.
  • Prepare records, reports, correspondence and other written materials.
  • Select, train, and evaluate warehouse staff. 
  • Plan, schedule, and manage packing and distribution activities, ensuring product and supplies are received, processed, warehoused and distributed in an efficient manner.
  • Develop recommendations to improve the operations, storage, inventory control, receiving, picking and processing and packing of product.
  • Ensure that the safety program and goals are implemented and carried out.
  • Ensure compliance to FDA, HAACP and all other pertinent codes, regulations and guidelines.
  • Upkeep of preventative maintenance program.
Qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years produce experience in a warehouse/production environment
  • Warehouse supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
  • Self-motivation and initiative to follow through on daily projects and priorities
  • Ability to work in a cold warehouse environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Ability to multitask and give clear directions, supervise, and make quick decisions
  • General knowledge of modern warehouse and inventory control processes
  • Thorough knowledge of all types of materials and parts required for operations
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with associates
  • Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and creative flexibility while dealing with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain and teach policies, procedures and practices
  • Proficient skills in using computer-based systems, programs and reports
  • Capacity to manage one’s own time and the time of others
  • Fork Lift Certified preferred
  • OSHA Certified preferred
  • Safety & Health Certified preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
