Vice President-Supply Chain and Plant Scheduling

Job Description: 

Supply Chain Vice President will manage the procurement team at True Leaf Farms, LLC and Church Brothers, LLC including all related process improvement projects.   He or she will also manage True Leaf’s value-added plant scheduling team which is responsible for raw material advance planning, container utilization strategy, production scheduling, finished good safety stock planning and all related process improvement projects.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Be an active part of the senior management team who continuously strives for excellence and sets the example for work ethic and dedication
  • Effectively lead and manage the purchasing and scheduling teams, challenging them to achieve top performance and supporting their efforts to do so
  • Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis
  • Be an integral part of relevant continuous improvement teams
  • Manage procurement of packaging materials and supplies leveraging company strengths to provide the best possible value to our customers
  • Oversee packaging material forecasting, planning and inventory management
  • Manage plant scheduling and line sequencing focusing on customer service and efficiency
  • Manage medium term raw product planning by interfacing between the main growing partners and the sales team
  • Oversee short term raw product planning including forecasting, ordering and inventory management
  • Oversee finished good forecasting, planning and inventory management
  • Lead new packaging development based on company goals and objectives
  • Act as liaison between Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to help determine improvement project priorities and timelines.
  • Assist in developing relevant processes and policies as needed by our customers
  • Provide purchasing support to all departments
Education: 
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five  to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills: 
  • Inherent leadership skills and ability to inspire confidence in client base
  • Team player who will exceed assigned responsibilities and assist others to reach objectives
  • Proficient with MS office:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory
  • Negotiating  and decision making Skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • A comprehensive knowledge of operational process flows as they relate to sales, inventory, and production functions;
  • Understanding of MRP concepts and inventory control methodologies, purchasing, order fulfillment, and daily production activities;
  • Ability to evaluate reporting tools to audit process data point accuracy;
  • Able to create spreadsheet and reporting models to support more efficient operational decision making;
  • Highly analytical, data-driven and fact-based business philosophy;

  • Candidates should have 5-10 years of consistent high performance in dynamic, rapidly-growing mid-market food / wine agribusiness entities. A premium will be placed on candidates who possess an ability to design, implement, and manage highly scalable organizational and capital infrastructure, processes and systems for planning, purchasing, and inventory management in a team-based environment.
Qualifications: 
  • Able to travel as required by the job
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Work onsite as required by the job
