Taylor Farms Colorado has a career opportunity available for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Director of Food Safety.
This person is responsible for the management of all quality assurance and sanitation functions to ensure highly disciplined compliance of all regulatory and company defined food safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures, and policies. This person will work closely with R&D, Sales, and Operations on the implementation of all regulatory compliance, process and specification changes, and new product introductions.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in food quality assurance; possess a hands on management approach, strong team leadership abilities, and an innovative mindset.
- College degree in food science or related area is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food quality assurance
- Must have completed HACCP training
- Knowledge of all aspects of agriculture procedures and positions.
- Functional knowledge and experience in the application of SQF Standards
- Proven leadership skills in a hands on environment
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and detail oriented
- The ability to proactively achieve consistent superior/excellent Food Safety and GMP audit scores
- The proven ability to maintain a sense of urgency and inspire similar behavior in subordinates
- The demonstrated ability to manage projects through to completion
- The ability to implement and maintain HACCP based Food Safety Plans
- Good written and oral communication skills
- General computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office
