As a Sr. Manager - Grocery Price Optimization & Analytics you will manage, optimize and report on pricing across the entire grocery segment to maximize sales and profit for each grocery segment.

This role is responsible for managing the comp shop strategy, price execution and price optimization models for the grocery business segment. This person will work closely with the pricing strategists and merchants to develop pricing tactics that will result in optimal financial outcomes while supporting broader price perception and growth objectives for Target.

Requirements: 
  • 7 plus years of pricing experience in grocery/commodities
  • Price optimization experience (preferably with DemandTec/Revionics)
  • Extensive analytics experience with expert level Excel skills
  • Prior experience leading teams (direct and cross functional groups)
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Lead competitive shop strategy and engagement with Retail Data Systems for frequency of shops, item lists and reporting out of results
  • Lead, motivate and inspire a team of grocery Pricing Analyst direct reports along with cross-functional team partners to drive department results
  • Key business liaison with IBM/DemandTec
  • Develop comprehensive price optimization models and rollout plan for grocery businesses
  • Develop approach, modeling and reporting for owned brand price position to achieve penetration rates and margin goals
  • Responsible for P&L performance of category and site-wide promotional performance and Contribution Margin optimization
  • Learn and clearly understand merchant businesses, strategies, and objectives; supporting them as a consultant in their pursuit
  • Develop division-specific financial goals and objectives for key pricing/promo initiatives.
  • Investigate the potential impacts of strategic business initiatives
  • Interpret financial and operational performance to identify business risks and opportunities
  • Create and enhance pricing tools to streamline decision-making
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews and supports new and on-going initiatives
  • Develop process improvements using strategic problem-solving skills
  • Use strong critical thinking and communication skills to educate merchants and other key partners and influence pricing decisions
  • Drive collaborative dialogue and processes within Pricing Analysis teams (e.g. Comp Pricing, CPM, Optimization)
