As a Director of Enterprise Pricing & Promotions - Grocery, you are responsible for the pricing and promotions strategy, analytics and reporting for Target’s grocery business. You will drive the overall pricing and promotions coordination across categories and channels including the appropriate levers to maximize sales, profit and traffic; and, lead a team of Leaders and Analysts.

Requirements: 
  • 5+ years recent experience in Grocery pricing and promotion strategy and planning including experience with commodity categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of various competitive pricing and promotion strategies.
  • Knowledge of retail aspects including merchandising, marketing and finance.
  • Willingness to foster a data-driven culture in managing a business.
  • Strategic thinker with innovative problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to influence and implement strategy formulation.
Responsibilities & Duties: 

Pricing:  

  • Work closely with Grocery Merchandising leaders to develop business pricing and promotion strategy that aligns back to Enterprise framework. 
  • Manage pricing postures, indices and item segments for grocery business. 
  • Work with pricing operations team and buyers to implement pricing strategies, price zones and business rules for each category. 
  • Continuously assess pricing health of the business through guest, financial and operational measures including value/price perception, sales, margin and price elasticity.  Develop reporting and dashboards to analyze and track progress on strategic pricing decisions.  
  • Work closely with the business department owner on fresh commodity markets, influence of volatility and strategic price planning in and out of market dynamics.

Promotions:   

  • Work closely with Merchandising and Marketing leaders to develop promotion strategy and tactics for the grocery business that support overall pricing strategy framework and Enterprise promotions plan. 
  • Analyze promotion performance and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and deliver on sales, margin and cost goals. 
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to improve promotional effectiveness.
