We are currently looking for a talented, hard-working  individual to fill the position of Produce Merchandising Coordinator for our Salinas, CA location.

This candidate will work independently and is responsible for supporting Sysco Merchandising and Supply Chain (SMS) Merchandisers, with a focus on customer service activities. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitation of the Operating Company (OpCo) order process, OpCo pricing and related duties as it relates to defined “bill through” supplier base.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum one year experience in sales support, office administration and/or working in a coordinator capacity required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Food Service and/or Produce industry experience preferred.
  • Well-organized and able to handle large volume of work with minimal supervision.
  • Problem solving ability and resolution skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on priorities in a dynamic work environment; handles stress in professional manner.
  • Must be team oriented and able to work in a collaborative work environment.
  • Must have customer service oriented work style.      
  • Ability to solve practical problems, while dealing with situations where limited standardization exists. 
  • Capacity to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to new work structures, processes, or requirements or to work within a new culture.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Maintains OpCo replenishment order as it relates to price and quantity.
  • Insures accurate and timely distribution of supplier price lists and confirmations to operating companies.
  • Maintains pricing files to assure accuracy.
  • Insures all orders are complete and accurate prior to submitting to accounting department.
  • Maintains daily communication with operating companies and co-workers to keep them informed of changes in market supply and quality, as well as any program changes with managed supplier base.
  • Keeps merchandisers informed of events in the marketplace that impact SMS and our operating company customers.
  • Assist merchandisers as needed in response to any OS&D issues.
  • Participate in the implementation of new products, programs, and strategy.
  • Support merchandising as needed with Supplier and OpCo training activities.  
  • Technologically savvy and able to utilize available systems to their capacity.
  • Reviews OpCo regional profiles on a regular basis and updates at regular intervals; communicates changes with Senior Merchandising Manager.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable category programs and products.
  • Practice good organizational skills and time management.
