We are seeking an exceptionally talented, proactive, self-starter to become a Quality Assurance Manager in Moss Landing, CA.

The Quality Manager position harnesses fundamentals of food science, microbiology, product development, training, and engineering to lead our culinary manufacturing team to efficiently make safe and high quality products.

Through positive and creative approaches to teamwork and innovation, the Quality Manager works directly with the Production Managers, Director of Product Integrity and Development, and  VP of Operations, on a variety of Quality and Production initiatives and daily programmatic execution.

Requirements: 
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Must work in warm and cold environments
  • Work safely around chemicals and equipment
  • HACCP Certified
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Genesis R&D
  • Ability to record, organize and interpret data
  • Ability to taste, smell and evaluate food or ingredients for quality parameters
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the Food Science Lab GLPs, SOPs, Inventory and Budget
  • Manage the execution, training and design of HACCP, GMP and SSOP programs and participates on HACCP Team
  • Manage the Supplier Approval Program
  • Manage the Monthly Self-Audit team and coordinate monthly audit corrective action task list to meet third party and customer standards
  • Manage the design, implementation and execution of strategy to meet Third Party Food Safety and Customer Audit Standards
  • Expand the scope of the QC program by identifying new opportunities for improvement of products and their production processes with metric-based approaches
  • Collect and organize data to support decision making related to food safety, shelf life and quality.
  • Present Quarterly Reports to Executive Management and Ownership
  • Manage third party Certifying Standards and Programs - including the Non-GMO Project, Kosher, and Organic
  • Manage the ESHA Genesis Database and perform all Nutrition Facts Analysis & Label Reviews
  • Participate in training new personnel (production and QC) in sensory and QC evaluation of all products, and develop training materials
  • Participate on QC panels for new products, raw materials and WIP
  • Assist with R&D trials related to continuous process improvement, shelf life studies and new product development
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
