Job Description: 

SunSelect is a year round producer and packer of Greenhouse vegetables for distribution across North America. We produce some of the best greenhouse grown bell peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers in the world.  Our newly built, state of the art 64-acre hydroponic greenhouse located in Tehachapi, CA is in the forefront of agriculture technology.  

SunSelect is currently seeking a bilingual (English & Spanish) Quality Control Manager who is an energetic team player who takes pride in details and delivering outrageously safe and outstanding quality produce to our customers.

The candidate must have education and a background in regulatory compliance focusing on food safety and quality. A minimum of 3 years of related experience is a must. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for site and produce inspections from production to delivery, and meeting 3rd party auditing and regulatory requirements.

Requirements: 
  • 3-5 years of Compliance and Quality Control.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others.
  • Must possess current knowledge of the industry’s food safety regulations, health and safety and hazard prevention.
  • Must show initiative and commitment to the company goals.
  • Able to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong commitment to performing and producing at the highest level at all times.
  • Ability to manage individual workflow effectively.
  • Able to communicate clearly with coworkers both in writing and verbally.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Bi-lingual individual is mandatory.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Enforce good production and packing practices that include, but are not limited to the following: sanitation, pest control, security and temperature management.
  • Implement current policy and on occasion write and implement new policies.
  • Design and produce a comprehensive and ongoing quality control program, which includes line personnel training, compliance reviews, corrective actions, maintenance of QC records, and creation of detailed tracking reports.
  • Compliance of regulations for all domestic, import and export shipments.
  • Conduct field inspections related to food safety.
  • Conduct USDA match inspections and third party audits.
  • Maintain an accurate, quality controlled inventory of produce.
  • Must maintain high quality of produce by keeping an accurate record of its status in storage.
