We're currently searching for a Produce Manager to provide leadership in the Produce Department by managing all activities. The Produce Manager will be responsible for product ordering, inventory, shrink, gross profit, department presentation, training of associates, and customer satisfaction.
This is a Union position with benefits provided through the Union.

Compensation/Salary:
$18-$20 hourly plus Dept. Manager Premium
Requirements:
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manages department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports and reviews orders of product and supplies so as to meet customer requirements and the company’s gross profit goals.
- Writes schedules oversees and assists with the training, rewards and recognizes their performance and delegates work assignments so as to most effectively utilize their talents and abilities while maximizing profits for the department.
- Develops and implements localized merchandising plan for Produce, works with Management to set up and create displays for new and seasonal items as well as items that are tied-in with other department promotions, in order to meet the sales and profit objectives of the stores and the departments.
- Reviews, revises, maintains and tracks all types of records concerning inventories to calculate gross monthly profits according to company guidelines.
- Enforces established departmental procedures for receiving merchandise including inspecting the product when delivered, pricing the product and restocking cases to insure freshness and quality, accuracy and product rotation.
- Reviews controls with Management for expenses, works to improve operations and efficiencies, by controlling labor costs and by reducing losses due to shrinkage and pilferage.
- Ensures effective housekeeping program is utilized. Inspects merchandise to be sure it meets all health department regulations. Ensures passing scores of all sanitation inspections that meet company standards. Ensures that associates work and operate equipment in a safe manner at all times, complying with OSHA requirements. Insures compliance with local, state and government weights and measures laws.
- Identifies areas in Produce Department where improvement in customer service is required, then implements changes and procedures to address these needs.
