Job Description: 

Strebin Farms LLC and affiliated companies is a family owned company that was established over 65 years ago wants to continue to expand and take care of its business, employees and families.

We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join our Troutdale, Oregon facility. This individual will oversee systems design and staff operations for purchasing, data entry, bill paying, invoicing, receivables, records storage and office procedures.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepare and distribute monthly and annual financial reports to members, management and responsibility center managers.
  • Oversee preparation of cash flow budget for key enterprises using input from responsibility center managers, and report monthly to members and division managers on cash flow performance.
  • Analyze feasibility of capital investments (i.e. large equipment, facilities, land) with focus on optimizing procurement strategy.
  • Oversee the company’s Management Information System including historical operating and financial data, trend comparisons and ratio analysis in key performance areas in both cash basis and accrual base.
  • Serve as primary liaison with business accounting firm on books for state/federal income tax returns, financials for review and financial lenders.
  • Maintain familiarity with corporate minutes, by-laws, partnership agreements and capitol maintenance requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Capable of overseeing variety of staff including but not limited to bookkeepers, data entry personnel, office and farm managers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience - 2 years of minimum experience working in agribusiness finance occupations
  • Agriculture:  Must have prior knowledge and experience with agricultural enterprises
  • Education - Minimum requirement is Masters in Business Administration, Agricultural Finance or related degree
  • Team Work - ability to work with diverse mix of owners and employees
  • Leadership/Delegation - ability to delegate and hold staff accountable for financial management and office functions at each operation.
  • Management Information Systems - demonstrate proven experience and understanding of how an effective business Management Information System should be set up and administered.
  • Audit/Internal Controls - should possess understanding of how audits fit into business Management Control system and know how to set up proper systems of internal controls to ensure sound security and audit compliance.
  • Process Improvement - Knowledge and experience in SOP development, certification systems, efficiency audits, and techniques for improving business efficiency and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems
  • Must have a, “Whatever it takes”, attitude.
