Job Description: 

Stemilt Growers is a leading tree fruit company based in Wenatchee, Washington. Owned and operated by the Mathison family, Stemilt grows, packs, ships, and markets fresh apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and apricots to stores worldwide. We are proud to be a leading organic fruit supplier and the largest sweet cherry shipper in the nation.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Wenatchee, Washington.

Compensation/Salary:

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Review and/or prepare journal entries as required.
  • Assist with annual budget development and periodic updates.
  • Assist with completing monthly reporting and variance analysis.
  • Assist in monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly production variances.
  • Assist in ensuring consistent standard cost methodologies.
  • Assist in contributing in financial reporting.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining necessary internal controls to protect the company assets and ensure accurate monthly reporting.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control processes, and other techniques for maximizing the effective growing, harvesting, production, and distribution of fruit.
  • Other duties can and will be assigned at the discretion of the Manager.
Qualifications: 
  • Must have Bachelor degree in Accounting.
  • Must have 3-5 years of Accounting Experience.
  • Must have Oracle and Discover (or ERP System) Query and Reporting Knowledge.
  • Must have solid Microsoft Office Experience.
  • Must have strong general knowledge of GAAP.
  • Must have Capital Projects Accounting Experience.
  • Fruit Industry Experience Preferred.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently or as a member of the team.
  • Provide high customer service and financial analysis support to Operations to assist with continuous improvement process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to work with all levels of the organization and to be an active team member.
  • Block Accounting (Project Accounting) knowledge and experience.
