Stemilt Growers is a leading tree Fruit Company based in Wenatchee, Washington. Owned and operated by the Mathison family, Stemilt grows, packs, ships, and markets fresh apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and apricots to stores worldwide. We are proud to be a leading organic fruit supplier and the largest sweet cherry shipper in the nation.

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager Trainee to join our team in Wenatchee, WA.

As a Maintenance Manager trainee,you are responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the maintenance staff, and ensuring that all maintenance is being performed and safety rules and regulations are being followed.

Requirements: 
  • Knowledge of packing lines, waxing, and cleaning of fruit, hydraulics, basic electrical and air systems
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and blue prints
  • Basic computer data entry required
  • Advanced math skills
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Ability to communicate and work well with other employees
  • Understanding of personnel supervision to include procedures for hiring, discipline and termination, maintaining employee records
  • High school or GED required, plus 5 years mechanic experience desired
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee the maintenance of all production departments and packing lines at various locations
  • Order repair parts for timely repairs of equipment
  • Prioritize and assess needs requirements from line supervisors on a daily basis
  • Schedule downtime maintenance of equipment
  • Coordinate schedules of mechanics for minimal response time
  • Supervise staff and complete payroll time cards and code according to standardized operations
  • Assist outside contractors as needed
  • Be available on-call at all times for fire system response
  • Assist the Maintenance Operations Specialty Supervisor with various projects as needed
  • Maintain operations and maintenance records
  • Understand various installation processes
  • Follow safety rules pertaining to job tasks
  • Other duties may be assigned
