Job Description: 

Spinaca Farms Inc., a large family owned and operated organic farming and import company, seeks a dynamic purchasing assistant for its international sales office located in Gilroy, CA, USA.  Spinaca Farms, and its La Colline Organics brand, is rooted in the art and science of tilling the land to produce and distribute healthy sustainable fruits and vegetables.  Spinaca proudly farms and partners with like-minded family farmers throughout California, Arizona, Mexico and beyond, who share the same love for farming, feeding families, and ensuring the quality, sustainability, availability, and safety of our food. 

The current position we are seeking to fill is a full time entry-level employee to join our team and integrate themselves into the world of organics.  The right person would be responsible for working directly with farmers on a daily basis ensuring proper flow of orders and schedules involving planting, harvesting, packing, and delivery to remote warehouses. Daily tasks range from inventory reconciliation and creating purchase orders to accurately pack and track product through our supply chain and communicate openly with the sales and marketing team on timely deliveries, quality, and availability.  The position requires a high level of detail work to track product, log quality issues, and reconcile potential credits to our farming operations. Ability to accurately record delivery rates and customer order fill rates is paramount to success in the position.

Qualified candidates should have experience in vendor and/or grower relations, and the ability to work in a fast paced (perishables) environment is a must.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment is essential.  Multi tasking skills are extremely necessary in this role.  Proficiency on most Microsoft & Mac programs a must: WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT & OUTLOOK.  Knowledge of purchase order software a plus but not a necessity.

Candidates must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings and be committed to doing what it takes to complete the job our customers deserve and are accustomed to.
