Executive Sales and Business Development Assistant

Job Description: 

Spinaca Farms Inc., a large family owned and operated organic farming and import company. We are seeking a creative Executive Level Sales & Business Development Assistant for its international sales office located in Gilroy, CA, USA.  Spinaca Farms, and its La Colline Organics brand, is rooted in the art and science of tilling the land to produce and distribute healthy sustainable fruits and vegetables.  Spinaca proudly farms and partners with like-minded family farmers throughout California, Arizona, Mexico and beyond, who share the same love for farming, feeding families, and ensuring the quality, sustainability, availability, and safety of our food.
 
The current position we are seeking to fill is for an employee with sales assistance experience to join our team and integrate themselves into the world of organics.  The position is primarily a customer service position and requires daily contact with customers and liaison work among warehouses, purchasing departments, and accounting personnel.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • This position will be responsible for order entry and sales confirmations, advanced shipping notifications, and accurate invoicing to customers as well as handle all inquiries and quality communications.
  • Cold calling will be required as well. The applicant must be motivated to increase their knowledge of sales and marketing. 
  • The candidate will be involved with basic marketing tasks  - including updating social media sites, the website, and marketing materials -  along with daily sales sheets and weekly email blasts.
  • The candidate will work closely with our business development department to ensure consistency in our marketing message and order fulfillment.
Qualifications: 
  • Qualified candidates should have experience in sales and customer service and the ability to work in a fast paced (perishables) environment is a must. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • 3-5 years experience as a produce Sales Assistant.
  • Bilingual helpful, but not required.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment is essential. 
  • Multi tasking skills are extremely necessary in this role. 
  • Proficiency on most Microsoft & Mac programs a must: WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT & OUTLOOK. 
  • Some knowledge of design software is a plus.
  • Desire to advance career in sales.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and be committed to doing what it takes to complete the job our customers deserve and are accustomed to.

Other:

  • Some travel required, especially to the farms and locations where our food is grown.
