Job Description: 

Southern Specialties, Inc. has been a leading grower, importer, processor and shipper of specialty produce grown in the Americas for over twenty years.  Today our products are served in the finest restaurants and are sold in leading retail chain stores and club stores throughout the United States and Canada.

OVERVIEW
If you are a Sales Manager that fosters building a team that delivers exceptional customer service then we have an opportunity for you! We continue to grow and are expanding to include a Sales Manager to help direct, lead, and develop a diversified sales team. This position requires someone who is seasoned, ready to jump into a dynamic work environment and develop a department that reinforces Southern Specialties, Inc. core values. 

Position Reports to: 
VP of Sales
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage sales personnel and customer service teams on all daily activities.
  • To meet established quarterly sales goals for key accounts and develop ongoing strategies within each territory.
  • Work closely with procurement in establishing and setting pricing on a weekly basis
  • Establish necessary controls to monitor department performance and provide complete and comprehensive reporting to the VP of Sales.
  • To continuously strengthen and motivate a sales team that is focused and driven based upon volume, but understands the need for profitable sales.
  • Establish a structured commodity management program within the sales department to work seamlessly with procurement to effectively procure and manage the business.
  • Work in conjunction with VP of Sales to achieve company sales strategies.
Qualifications: 

Work experience/Qualification requirements:

To be a strong fit for the Sales Manager, you will need:

  • Proven track record of management with minimum 7 years of sales team management, establishing regular trade with top retailers, foodservice distributors, wholesalers, and processors
  • Possess a proven history of strong incremental revenue/sales in a sales management position
  • Knowledge of commodity market business as well as value added programs in produce
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a strong ability to lead and develop others
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Project and goal oriented.  Proven leadership skills
  • Exceptional communication both written and oral, negotiation and closing skills
  • Sense of urgency, thoroughness, attention to detail and drive for excellence
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
