We are looking to expand our team to include a seasoned, bi-lingual Procurement Manager who has a deep understanding of executing a 365-day sourcing strategy throughout the Americas. You will be a key player helping us to fulfill the sourcing needs of our growing customer base.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining grower/vendor relationships
- Coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity beginning with intent to purchase through delivery
- Supply chain management including interfacing with vendors, negotiating contracts, resource planning, scheduling and perishable inventory control
- Work with grower/vendors to assure that commodity purchases are in compliance with Southern Specialties quality standards
- Proven ability to be resourceful to develop year round supply for key commodities
- Employ strong knowledge of key industry players, competitors, market dynamics, commodity growing regions and supply chain logistics
- Communicate daily market conditions for price and quantity
- Manage quality control, product rejections and resolve vendor disputes
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, rapid growth business environment and maintain self-starter energy, opportunity focus, communicative ability and a well-organized work style that this position requires
Work experience/Qualification requirements:
To be a strong fit for the role of Procurement Manager, you will need:
- 5-10 years of produce or related industry experience
- BA/BS in business, horticulture, agriculture or related subject preferred
- Enthusiastic and motivated by delivering bottom line results within a team environment
- Project and goal oriented. Proven leadership skills
- Exceptional communication both written and oral
- Highly effective with diverse groups
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Bilingual – English/Spanish Required
