Job Description: 

Sinclair Systems International manufactures and distributes a broad range of innovative labeling products to the global fresh fruit packing industry.  Since 1983, Sinclair has consistently provided the global marketplace with robust, quality labeling equipment, unique label solutions, expert technical service and unsurpassed product innovations and know-how.

Sinclair Systems International is currently looking for a Customer Technical Support to join their team in Wenatchee, WA.

The role of this position is to ensure the provision of technical support to Sinclair customer’s sales/marketing functions and Sinclair agents in line with world class performance standards. The role will be accountable to the Field Service Supervisor (NW).

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical, QA or Agricultural discipline (or an equivalent combination of work and experience).
  • Thorough knowledge of fresh produce production and packaging environments.
  • Experience with CAD and/or PCB design and development tools on desktop computers.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience with translating business requirements into data analysis and reporting solutions.
  • Must be able to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment while working closely with users and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures.
  • Advanced Computer skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic spreadsheets and word processors such as Excel, Lotus, Word, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Skilled with writing routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Capacity to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Excellent organizational, trouble shooting and time management skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and with external partners.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment.
  • Domestic and International travel required (20-40%).

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop a complete understanding of all customer related equipment requirements within the first year of accepting the position.
  • Translate Equipment Requirements to enable suitable integration between Engineering and Marketing functions.
  • Train Sales, Marketing, Agents, and customers on the features and upgrades of Sinclair equipment.
  • Advise agents of equipment and assembly enhancements to promote efficient integration of Sinclair equipment.
  • Visit potential customers as directed, to ensure that labeling systems are specified correctly.
  • Collect suitable information to enable preparation of line layouts for submission to the Agent/Customer.
  • Assist all Agents as required in the ordering of new labeling systems.
  • Visit pack-house/customers as directed, to determine a mutually satisfactory labeling solution to label difficult to label products.
  • Follow through on Installed Machine Reports and investigate success of installation. Analyze performance and use this data to develop continuous improvement activity.
  • Establish and maintain a “Case Study” file advising typical installation layouts for the various product types.
  • Investigate and develop labeling improvements and work with Engineering and Production to implement those changes.
  • Participation in product/component trials.
  • Participation in development of User Requirement Specifications and Equipment Performance Specifications.
  • Undertaking audits of installed equipment and Field Service effectiveness.
  • Travel as required.
