Job Description:
We currently have an opening for the position of Produce Sales Specialist in the Detroit area.
Detroit located, fresh produce distributor looking for a dynamic, experienced produce sales person with a strong work ethic that believes in exceeding our customers’ expectations. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 5 years’ experience in produce sales and/or chef/restaurant management experience. Related experience in marketing, hospitality or Culinary Arts training. Must be a self-starter and team player motivated to broaden our distribution area.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prospect and secure new produce customers to build sales territory.
- Grow distribution and placement in both new and existing accounts.
- Develop and communicate strategies to grow market share and customer base.
- Plan and Achieve annual growth in building a territory with restaurants and other produce customers
- Achieve account penetration.

Accountable for all transactional aspects of a customer relationship from solicitation of orders, through payment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of sales in the produce industry
- Must have knowledge of produce varieties, with ability to educate customers about fresh produce.
- Strong communication skills
- Computer literate
- Able to work independently, with a positive attitude and able to thrive in a fast paced environment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and current automobile insurance
Work environment will vary, office, warehouse, inside and outdoors.
