Field Service Technician

Job Description: 

Since 1993, Sev-Rend has been a leader in the packaging industry.  We are an American-owned company that manufactures high performance tags, film wraps labels, pressure sensitive labels, sof-net and flexible packaging for all varieties of bagged and netted products.  From produce and citrus to meat, poultry and seafood. We have earned a reputation for innovation by working closely with customers to develop specific solutions for their packaging needs. 

Currently, we are seeking highly motivated Field Service Technicians in the following targeted areas: West Coast, North Eastern United States, and the South Eastern United States.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all makes and models of produce packaging equipment including, but not limited to Giro, Daumar and Sorma packing machinery. The goal is to drive quality, productivity, and customer service utilizing Sev-Rend products.

Requirements: 
  • Proven field service experience with produce packaging equipment. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service produce packaging equipment. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.                        
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • A work ethic that includes initiative, ability to work independently, sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work at customer sites, 50%-75% of the time.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to work from a home office.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits, dispatches or telephone inquiries. 
  • Diagnose technical problems and determine appropriate solutions using root cause analysis. 
  • Understand customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations. 
  • Produce timely, detailed, and accurate field service reports. 
  • Coordinate with technical manager and share information and best practices across the organization.   
  • Work to establish add-on business to maximize product lines with existing customers. 
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.
