Account Manager

Job Description: 

SCS is looking for a motivated Account Manager with sales or marketing experience to join its Food and Agriculture Sales Division. This individual is a key contributor ensuring the Food and Agriculture Division meets its sales goals. The position reports to the Sales Manager and works closely with Program Managers and other Sales and Marketing staff. The Sales Account Manager is responsible for generating revenue from inbound and outbound sales of services including Food Safety training, SQF audits, Organic audits, and Non-GMO audits. Key responsibilities include meeting quarterly sales goals, generating sales leads, promoting program sales, preparing proposals, and closing sales. Our ideal candidate is located in the California Bay Area, Central Valley, Arizona, Texas, and Florida will be considered.

Requirements: 
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and execute an effective sales strategy
  • Maintain current knowledge of market competition and industry trends
  • Conduct internet research and develop industry contacts
  • Generate and maintain sales pipeline by cold calling, responding to inquiries, referrals and internet leads 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • A motivated individual passionate about sales
  • 1+ year’s marketing and sales in food and agricultural services or food manufacturing preferred
  • Previous work experience in the Food and Agricultural industry is a plus
  • Experience with inbound and outbound sales preferred
  • Must be able to travel to trade shows and client sites up to 30% of the time
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills; able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal, client relations, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with cold calling, lead qualification, and closing strategies preferred
  • Marketing or Business degree or 4 year’s equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with environmental claims and/or third party certification process is preferred
  • Commitment to achieving both individual and team performance goals
  • Strong computer skills; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with databases
  • Experience with a CRM
