Systems Administrator

Job Description: 

San Miguel Produce is currently seeking an experienced Systems Administrator in Oxnard, California. Responsibilities include daily management of a mixed Windows environment consisting of 50 workstations and 18 servers in a Hyper-V virtualized environment. Coordinates and follows up on activities by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Oracle Database Administration of Famous Database (ERP) software
  • Design SQL queries and reports using Infomaker
  • Develop SharePoint sites
  • Deploy and support the following technologies in a production environment
  • Windows desktops remote application deployment and patch management SCCM/SMS SCUP Administration
  • Windows Server 2008 or higher Active Directory architecture, TCP/IP, DNS
  • MS Exchange 2010 or higher, and BlackBerry Enterprise Server, spam filtering, message archiving
  • Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V
  • Anti-virus, Anti Spyware and other security tools, SMB/Enterprise Security products
  • SharePoint, Microsoft SQL and other Microsoft based technologies
  • ShoreTel VOIP phone system
  • IP surveillance systems
  • Windows print services and HP Web Jet Admin
  • Manage related back office systems (availability, scheduling, server capacity and performance to meet RPO and RTO. [BackupExec, NTBackup, Windows Server Backup, MS Data Protection Manager]
  • Provide support to offices & remote users over VPN connections over RRAS
  • Provide assistance in implementing EDI
  • Expected to manage:
  • Imaging, deployment, and management of Windows Operating Systems (server and client)
  • Troubleshooting Server/Desktop Hardware including BIOS, firmware, drivers, and RAID configuration. Knowledge of RAID levels and performance tradeoffs.
  • Cisco, Adtran and Windows TCP/IP networks, routing, switching, WAN, DNS, NAT/PAT, firewalls, failover configuration, load balancing, WiFi and Radius
  • Other hardware and software such as Printers, and cellular phone app deployment

Education: 
  • B.A. or B.S. Degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, IT related certifications; and over 3 years up to and including 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills: 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to exercise technical writing skills to develop and maintain documentation.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Plus to perform this job successfully, the individual must have advanced level knowledge of:

  • MS Office Suite: Outlook Communication Management software, Word (Word Processing) software, Excel Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint Presentation Software, Access Database Management software, Project (Project Management) software, and Publisher Graphics Design software; Internet Usage; and PC and/or MAC and Windows Usage experience.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid State Driver’s License; appropriate Microsoft certifications.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • The successful candidate will have strong research, written and verbal communication skills, and will be expected to take direction and carry out most tasks independently.
