The Night Shift Supervisor is one of two supervisory positions in the service center responsible for all shipping and receiving operations during our second shift, 5:00 PM to close. The primary focus will be on the import commodities which include (but are not limited to) asparagus, mangos, melons, berries, avocados, and pineapples. The Night Shift Supervisor provides outstanding leadership and unwavering support while enforcing the operating procedures of the floor and administrative staff.
NOTE: Must be able to work nights and weekends. Monday through Wednesday, 5pm to close and Fridays 5pm to close. On call duty every Sunday.
- Minimum requirement: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in food distribution.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift certified.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills.
- Ability to make sound and quick decisions under pressure.
- Work independently with little to no supervision.
- Famous software knowledge a plus.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must independently identify operational deficiencies and take action to improve.

- Supervise the job performance of our shipping & receiving personnel.
- Monitor the general admin staff, their performance and nightly priorities.
- Monitor shipped volume weekly (or seasonally) to make employee scheduling decisions to meet departments performance and service goals.
- Monitors the completion of assigned jobs, rotation of product, and issuing of orders to be picked/staged and the loading of product into customer’s trucks.
- Train employees in departmental procedures, safety regulations, and food safety issues.
- Ensure compliance to company regulations and when needed discipline employees when not following regulations.
- Analyze shift performance and be able to back up with data.
- Must be willing to interact daily with our customers, truck drivers, brokers and sales staff around nightly shipping progress.
