Job Description: 

We are family owned and operated in business since 1910. We service a hundred-mile radius around our warehouse located in Southwest VA. As our name suggests we sell fresh fruit & produce to foodservice operations. We carry a line of domestic cheeses, fresh eggs and precut vegetables.

We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our family in Roanoke, VA.

As an Outside Sales Representative you will travel your assigned area on a daily basis to open new accounts and maintain current accounts. On occasion you will have light delivery duties depending on customer’s needs. You will also be working/reporting directly to the company president to set goals and give input regarding sales strategies.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to manage their territory. They will have a positive attitude, good oral communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Requirements: 
  • Two years of sales experience in the food service sector.
  • Produce experience a plus.
  • Independently driven and highly motivated.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to persuade, motivate and influence others.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and quickly identify solutions independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, continually changing environment.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Must be able to travel.

We offer paid vacation and company car (if needed) which includes fuel card and insurance. Salary depends on experience in the industry. We pay bonuses for new accounts (based on retention).

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Identify and target new business development.
  • Service existing accounts and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Provide daily marketing support to establish and increase new customers.
  • Successfully promote a customer-focused work ethic in tune with the company's core values and principles.
  • Effective account management including: profitable sales; customer service; price and volume management (market, ad/lid, and contracts, open); price and volume forecasting; reporting and performance review/monitoring.
  • Develop and communicate strategies to grow market share and customer base.
  • Manage budgets to ensure effectiveness and meet area targets.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure optimal customer service and support.
