RLB Food Distributors, LP, seeks a seasoned Produce Buyer. In this key management position you will source, procure and manage a wide variety of product lines. You will oversee and implement all produce buying activities from forecasting to vendor negotiations, inventory management and budgeting. You will manage and develop a small department of buyers and administrative staff. The position is located in Northern New Jersey.
- In depth knowledge of all produce commodities.
- Significant experience in FOB buying
- Strong inventory management skills.
- Knowledge of buying from the local market area.
- Forecasting and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in retail/wholesale produce buying and department management, ten years strongly preferred.
- Computer proficiency a must (Word, Excel and email).
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
- High school graduate, college level education strongly preferred.
