It is a great and exciting time for us here at Rio Produce! We are getting ready to move into our new 65,000 sqft warehouse and have some amazing opportunities for career growth and for new employees to join our team.

We are currently looking for a highly-motivated Salesperson to join our team in Hidalgo, TX.

Our Hidalgo, Texas location allows us to bring in product from Mexico and grow here locally in the Rio Grande Valley. Where we’ve been working with the same growers for many years who now supply us on a regular basis.

As a Salesperson, it is your responsibility to increase our sales in our Hispanic program and/or our Texas Grown program. You will increase sales by maintaining and creating new customers by selling to major retailers, food service and wholesalers.

Requirements: 
  • 3-5 years’ experience selling fresh vegetables in our Hispanic program (Jalapeno, Serrano, Poblanos, Tomatillo, carrots and cilantro)  Or 3-5 years’ experience selling fresh vegetables in our Texas Grown program (cabbage and/or watermelons)
  • Strong customer service and marketing skills.
  • A thorough understanding of produce market conditions.
  • A proven track record in increasing sales and finding new accounts.
  • A positive, professional attitude with the ability to work with others to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Critical thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and team player.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Willingness/flexibility with work schedule.
  • Must exhibit high integrity and ethics.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Expand sales to existing clients, while building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Seek to improve sales revenue in line with established sales targets. 
  • Provide sales support and superior customer service.
  • Deliver presentations to customers and principals.
  • Prepare weekly sales and call reports.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of all sales and customers.
  • Process, update and track sales orders.
  • Answer phones and handle calls with a professional demeanor.
  • Handle customer service situations with calm and professionalism.
  • Maintain and develop working relationships with the team.
  • Communicating with sales team on a daily basis to manage sales inventories.
