Job Description:
Richard Bagdasarian is a family owned and operated grower, shipper and marketer of California Table Grapes, Citrus and Vegetables. We are currently looking for an Assistant Vineyard Manager. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day farming operations under the direction of the Vineyard Manager. This includes allocating and supervising crews, arranging for equipment, materials, and tools to be available in the right locations at the right times and supervising pesticide applications.
The work days will consist of Monday through Saturday (normal field hours are 10 hr. / day, 60 hrs. / wk).

Requirements:
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
- Valid California drivers license and clean DMV record
- Valid Private Applicators Certificate (Brown card)
- First aid and CPR certified
- Minimum 3 years’ experience Supervisory experience
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Supervises Sub-foremen, Tractor Drivers, and Crew Bosses.
- Trains and develops employees with assistance from HR.
- Explains and demonstrates field work-techniques and safety-regulations to inexperienced workers.
- Arranges for the right number and placement of crews on a daily basis.
- Arranges for equipment, materials, tools to be available to each crew or individual employees.
- Supervises safety meetings and pesticide training.
- Supervises pesticide and other material applications to the vineyards.
- Completes pesticide reporting.
- Calibrates sprayers.
- Supervises sub-foremen in preparation of timesheets.
- Reports injuries and cares for injured workers.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of vineyard management practices especially in day to day operations
- Knowledge of farming equipment
- Knowledge of viticulture
- Knowledge of irrigation practices
- Knowledge of pesticides and other farming chemicals and use
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on own
- Ability to plan work and achieve required results
- Ability to organize multiple tasks
- Ability work well with others
- Ability to work safely
Physical Environment
- Often working outdoors
- Exposed to elements related to farming operations
- Works with materials associated with the table grape production
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Bending, stooping and walking on a daily basis
