Job Description: 

QIMA/WQS offers food safety and audit solutions, from farm to fork through GFSI-recognized certifications (PrimusGFS, GLOBALG.A.P., SQF, and BRCGS) food certification schemes, sustainable protocols, inspections, and training.

We are seeking a Food Safety Auditor – Agriculture for our West Coast (must be located in California or Washington).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct food safety inspections/audits following QIMA/WQS and scheme owner rules.
  • Develop inspections/audits reports within a determined timeframe.
  • Summarize and evaluate inspection/audit findings.
  • Communicate findings/results of inspections/audits with client representatives.
  • Develop effective audit plans for the completion of assigned inspections/audits within a determined timeframe.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with key team members including audit delivery and client teams.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • 85% travelling.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PrimusGFS:
    • At least 02 years of experience in areas such as quality assurance or food safety functions in food production or manufacturing, retailing, inspection, or enforcement.
    • Education in an agricultural/crop based, food or bio-science related discipline or, as a minimum, have successfully completed a higher education course or equivalent qualification in one of those disciplines
    • 16-hour or 2-day HACCP course based on Codex
    • Lead Auditor Course with duration of one week/40 hours or equivalent.
    • PrimusGFS 4-day training (Seminar Training of 24h plus Auditor Course of 8h)
    • Valid Driver’s license.
  • GLOBALG.A.P. Inspector:
    • At least a post high school (post-secondary education) diploma or equivalent (minimum course duration of 2 years) in a discipline related to the scope of certification (Crops) AND a minimum of 2 years’ experience gained after finishing post high school studies and overall 3 years’ experience in the agricultural industry OR
    • A post high school (post-secondary education) diploma with a minimum duration of 2 years in a food related discipline AND a minimum of 4 year industry experience either in a practical capacity on farm/site or in a technical production management role in the relevant scope of certification (Crops).
    • Food Hygiene Training (min. 8 hours) covering: site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities and personal hygiene, and practical case studies.
    • Specific AG training: IPM, Plant Protection, Fertilizer, Soil Management (can be part of graduation).
    • 8-hour HACCP course based on Codex.
    • GLOBALG.A.P. IFA FV training.
    • Valid Driver’s license.
