Job Description: 

Pure Pacific Organics, LLC. is one of the best recognized leafy green processors, marketers and distributors of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut vegetables, as well as a leading producer and distributor of produce in the USA. Production runs continuously all year round operating in Gonzales, California.

The Food Safety (FS) /Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will provide leadership and support for the development and implementation of Food Safety/Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures. This position main function is to assure that the quality of incoming of raw material, product, processing, and finish goods meets and exceeds Quality Assurance and Food Safety standards as well as exceeds customer’s expectations.  This is accomplished through effectively planning, designing, Primus GFSI audits, customer audits, and communicating Quality Assurances (QA), Food Safety (FS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and Global Food Safety Initiative standards (GFSI), policies, procedures and measures.

Position is year-round operating in Gonzalez, California. FS/QA Manager reports directly to Director of Operations. Work schedule is based on company needs and demands.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum three (3) years in related field; FS, QA, processing facility, fresh produce industry, and sanitation. Hands-On experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Computer Proficient – Outlook, MS WORD and MS Excel application minimum. 
  • Experience managing broad range of quality-related functions, including HACCP plans, GMP’s, GFSI, and AIB certification
  • Experience in developing and maintaining a motivated hard working team
  • Demonstrate desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, product quality and reliability.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect in a creative and effective manner  
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline oriented environment.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends or as business or operation needs arise.
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environment and occasional lift, bend and twist
Responsibilities & Duties: 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Establish, communicate and monitor QA, FS, GMP programs 
  • Responsible for assuring QA, FS and GMP systems are effectively utilized by all inter-departments, constantly monitored to confirm effectiveness and objectives are meets and exceeds company, industry and customer expectations.
  • Will be responsible for 3rd party, customer, food safety, processing audits
  • Train production personnel on QA and FS programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to department heads to promptly facilitate a favorable resolution on all QA and FS issues while minimizing additional over-head expense and assuring consumer safety at all times.
  • Ensures initiation, investigation, and closure of product and process deviations, non-conformances, and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Provides support for the recall of non-conforming materials, investigations associated with product complaints, and biological product deviation reports. 
  • Manage planning and execution of existing and new product testing efforts.
  • Hires and directly supervises the food safety/quality assurance/sanitation team assuring members are properly trained and work in a safe environment.
  • Responsible for plant Sanitation program.
