Client Services Manager

Job Description: 

Pero Family Farms is a sustainable grower that packages a wide array of year-round vegetables. We are looking for a Client Service Manager in our Delray Beach, FL location. The Client Service Manager will be responsible and accountable for the achievement of the full spectrum of customer service and account management of delegated and potential customers, as directed by our Director of Client Services and Executive Director of Marketing. There are expectations for the CSM to become a professional expert at managing day to day and future business propositions and or problem solving issues with one’s own creativity and or willingness to ask for direction from the Director, when necessary.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Plan and prioritize personal sales activities in order to achieve agreed upon business targets including sales and costs.
  • Manage personal time and productivity.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers and commodities for use as sales leads.
  • Solicit new business through cold calling.
  • Explain the details of all Pero services to prospective customers.
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
  • Manage pricing and margins with guidance from the Director or as directed during absences, illnesses, vacations, etc.
  • Prepare sales contracts, Ads, or promotions for current/new accounts with final approval from the Executive Director of Marketing.
  • Recommend changes to current customers regarding their transportation needs.
  • Provide weekly or as requested progress reports to management, with help of IFO or analytical department.
  • Communicate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Cross train to be responsible for other CSM’s roles during absences, illnesses, vacations, etc.
  • Provide proper training and mentoring of Client Service Coordinators within team and elsewhere as directed and needed.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of sales, transportation, operations, and or logistics management experience.
  • Prior success with customer and/or carrier growth.
  • Strong sales and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to effectively influence others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, using email and excel programs as main modes of communication with the ability to learn Pero’s computer system.
  • Strategic and creative thinking skills.
