Fresh Produce Inventory Specialist

Job Description: 

Looking for an exciting career opportunity with a growing, dynamic industry leader?  Albert’s Organics’, America’s largest, most knowledgeable organic fresh foods distributor and subsidiary of United Natural Foods, is seeking a Fresh Produce Inventory Specialist to join our Pacific Organic team.  This position will be located in our Vernon, CA office and will act as inbound and outbound logistics expert for assigned products and categories, achieve established service level product quality requirements, solve problems and manage Pacific Organic’s consolidation inventory at multiple third party warehouses to ensure they are meeting communication and program execution expectations. With general supervision, this role will work cooperatively and cross-functionally with other team members in sales, category management, transportation, operations, accounting and inbound logistics.
Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain  management or a related field, or have equivalent experience and training. 
  • Minimum five (5) years’  experience in a logistics setting with perishable environment, preferably with produce. 
  • Basic understanding of transportation, warehousing, supply chain executive software and third-party logistics. 
  • Proficiency in Internet, MS Outlook, Word, Excel required. 
  • English/Spanish bilingual skills a plus. 
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and evenings as necessary. 
  • Some travel will be required. 
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Able to build relationships and work as an effective team member for prompt resolution to problems and issues.  
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word Excel, and PowerPoint; competent to learn and adapt to new computer applications, system upgrades and other technology as necessary. 
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills at all organizational levels. 
  • Able to work closely with management and team members to resolve problems and issues.
