We are currently looking for a Food Safety Support Specialist to join our team in Salinas, CA.

As a Food Safety Support Specialist you will support and assist the Food Safety Department with various administrative and organizational tasks. We are looking for a candidate that is looking for an opportunity to learn and gain some experience in food safety.

Requirements: 
  • 1+year of experience in administrative related work or related field; preferred
  • 2-year degree in agriculture or related field, preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self‐starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi‐task in time sensitive manner
  • Proficient in Computer Software; Word, Excel, Outlook and Various Databases
  • Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Receive and review pesticide application records, ensure all material has micro data attached, and file original copies onsite.
  • Store scientific data, audit files, and LGMA documentation in electronic folders.
  • Properly update online database (ICIX) with Food Safety reports for customers.
  • Manage ICIX online database. Ensure most recent facility, ranch, and harvest crew audits are uploaded
  • and shared with the corresponding customers. Delete old entries.
  • Update PIM Servers and Internet databases with several types of data information.
  • Retrieve and distribute reports, data, and findings to growers, shippers, and harvesters as needed
  • Request audit and scientific data from growers, suppliers, and laboratories.
  • Maintain and organize electronic files for easy access across Food Safety Department
  • Receive, Review and upload micro data onto PIM Food Safety Server.
  • Scan and upload pre harvest assessments onto PIM Food Safety Server and file original copy onsite.
  • Assist Food Safety Coordinators, Plant Pathologist, and Food Safety Director with requests as needed
  • Assist Food Safety Coordinator during Primus Audits, LGMA audits as needed.
  • Provide quick and responsive support when needed.
