We are currently seeking for a Repacking Specialist in Long Beach, CA.
As a Repacking Specialist you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations, scheduling, maintenance, sanitation and personnel of the repack room. You are responsible creating a positive work environment where employees participate and work towards improving our processes and enhancing our organization.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years’ fresh produce packing experience.
- Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Knowledge of Famous or Produce Pro preferred.
- Giro machine experience preferred.
- Forklift experience.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean packing environment.
- Ensures that all products leaving the packing room are top quality and condition.
- Coordinates with the Food Safety Manager to enforce staff adherence to operational and food safety policies.
- Coordinates the inventory levels of items repacked for everyday sales.
- Manages and maintains labeling compliance according to product safety policy.
- Participates in creation and maintenance of product traceability numbers.
- Investigates various ways to improve packing techniques and packaging material selection.
- Suggest packaging requirements for proposed new products.
- Is responsible to maintain all packing tools and machines in a safe and clean manner.
- Is responsible to keep an accurate inventory of all packaging supplies regularly.
- Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
