Service Technician

Job Description: 

Pace International manufactures and distributes high quality agricultural products that work to maintain the beauty and integrity of processed tree fruit and vegetable commodities and to extend the shelf-life of produce available locally and internationally.

We are currently seeking an individual to fulfill the position of Service Technician in our New York facility.

The Service Technician is responsible for working with assigned customers to ensure proper application of company products, maintain company equipment, and help in the identification and problem solving of fruit problems and application services during harvest.

Requirements: 
  • High school graduate with mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in fruit or vegetable packing house operations desirable.
  • Knowledge of growing fruit is a plus.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and plumbing skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • PLC electronics & control training is a plus.
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • Independent thinker who, with a set of data, can make rational and reasonable conclusions.
  • Possess a positive, can do attitude.

 

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Mixing and monitoring of post-harvest products, including but not limited to wax, fungicides, chlorine, and cleaners.
  • Build customer relations and confidence in Pace International’s post-harvest services programs.
  • Install and service wax/cleaner applicators to ensure optimal product results.
  • Maintain all Pace International owned application equipment in accordance with the schedule set by the Sales Manager.
  • Maintain daily service logs at each customer location and deliver to Tech Services by the 4th day of each month.
  • Monitor product(s) usage at customer sites and maintain adequate inventory.
  • Complete all paperwork on a timely basis.
  • Collect residue samples as needed.
  • Maintain company vehicles (including servicing and cleaning).
  • Provide support to post-harvest customers.
  • Support sales efforts to maintain customer relationships.
  • Must obtain proper pesticide application licenses and be able to perform application services during harvest period.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
