We’re looking for an experienced accounting professional with a back ground in produce who is personable and outgoing and takes a common sense approach to problem solving that shows through in their judgment, communication, and organizational skills

The successful candidate will lead the accounting department in financial reporting, including timely reports, technical accounting analysis, and year-end audit preparation. They will also ensure the efficiency of our accounting systems and policies. 

An Ideal candidate will enjoy tackling new challenges and possess exceptional organization skills with an eye for detail. They will be adept at optimizing finances and creating sound yearly budgets. They will also possess outstanding leadership skills and the ability to further develop their team’s individual skills.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting/business administration or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong financial reporting skills and experience in designing and implementing financial controls and processes.
  • Expertise and proficiency in an accounting software system.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
  • Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans within a produce environment desirable.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for all accounts, ledgers, and period-end closes ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and lead efforts to improve efficiencies throughout all accounting functions.
  • Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain organizational structure within HR/payroll/finance system that meets the needs of the organization.
  • Monitor employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on ensuring proper accounting.
