Supply Manager II

Job Description: 

This position is responsible to manage the short term supply of raw product for processing between the plant, customer service, and internal/external suppliers.

Requirements: 
  • Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish fluency is required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as bills of lading, spreadsheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic college level math skills required. Mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, yields, costs, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Reasoning ability to quickly solve problems at the field level and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists while optimizing cost, quality and service of the program. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk on surfaces that range from an office environment to the uneven areas in the fields. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve frequent air travel required to multi-sight locations; use of a motor vehicle and company provided cellular phones would be necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to air conditioning. The employee is also exposed to cold temperatures and heat when visiting plant processing and warehousing locations. The employee will be visiting plant locations where the use of chemical substances is present and used in the processing plant. Employee's work is also subject to the pressures of time constraints and deadlines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the daily requirements and order of raw product (material) with internal/external suppliers to assure sufficient inventory for processing for all plants including but not limited to AZ, CA, KY and SC.
  • Raw material inventory management for AZ and CA plants.
  • Raw material rejection process management for AZ and CA plants.
  • Responsible for the vegetable purchase program to assure availability and quality.
  • Ownership of the harvest forecast and timely updates of same to assure raw product availability.
  • Coordination of raw material transitions between the various suppliers and companies.
  • Weekly reconciliation of contracts with suppliers.
  • Spot purchase of raw material (shortage).
  • Outside sale of raw material (excess).
  • Daily entry of PO’s in the NAV system.
  • Weekly financial reconciliation of PO’s in the NAV system from all raw product buyers.
  • Weekly reporting of receiving to suppliers; converts pallets to weight of product and provides to grower.
  • Works in coordination with Production, QA, Receiving, Shipping and Sales departments to resolve time sensitive raw product issues in order to meet customer demand.
  • Communicates adjustments of raw product availability to all departments for all plants.
  • Supervise and conduct annual performance reviews of direct reports.
Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • This position requires good organizational skills and computer skills including competency with word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs.
