Marketing Specialist

Job Description: 

This is a broad tasked position that will work on a wide range of corporate & product marketing projects including: trade events, communications media (PR, trade print media and awareness), and sales/customer support. Additional areas include, brand marketing, sales promotions, sales and promotional material development, and special projects as they present themselves – which will all require communication and coordination between internal and external parties.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Execute Sales Promotions (Retail and Foodservice)
    • Implement turnkey & customized promotional programs in conjunction with sales team and product management that can be activated during peak times of the season.
      • Support Account Managers and Sales Management
      • Review proposals, develop tactics and implement sales promotions with our sales force
      • Assist Account Managers in the development of customized account specific promotional programs
      • Review proposals from outside agencies for structured promotional programs
    • Coordinate tactics and promotion elements with agencies, partners and customers
    • Develop sales sheets to support programs
    • Analyze programs results, identify best practices and develop recommendation for future feasibility. Use scan data & sales data when possible to demonstrate program effectiveness
  • Enhanced Trade Communications (Demonstrate Naturipe Farms Berry Category and Produce Industry Leadership)
    • Develop and execute trade advertising calendar and corresponding budget
    • Develop, write and pitch press releases and news editorials to press in conjunction with sales and product management
    • Expand berry (fresh, processed & value added) presence in Foodservice media
  • Develop aspects of the Naturipe Farms Website, trade media advertising and Trade Relations
    • Develop and implement significantly improved website and social media platforms to support our growing brand, product categories and trade customer reach. Expanded Digital media activities to reach broader audience, build brand awareness, brand engagement and direct customer communications.
      • Manage creative development and execution, maintain current and accurate content
        • Ensure consistent “voice” of Naturipe throughout all media
        • Includes brand standards and style guidelines
        • Manage website content to provide relevant information for our target audiences
      • Supervise interactive agency relations
      • Ensure proper budget controls are in place
      • Expand customer interaction via all digital media
        • Develop and update editorial content to reflect corporate communications objectives
  • Coordinate Trade Shows and Conventions between outside vendors, sales and marketing staff

Quantitative Data/Job Dimensions

  • Expand consumer traffic on the website and social media platforms (Goals established annually)
  • Increase Naturipe Farms exposure in trade media
  • Expand communications berry programs (fresh, ingredient & valued added) in Foodservice sector
  • Define & execute account specific sales promotions for each acct manager
  • Responsible for budgets <$250K
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5+ years applicable experience
  • 5 + years marketing experience
  • 5 + years Produce Industry experience highly desirable
  • 2 yrs + experience in graphics and related activities preferred
  • Advanced computer skills required (both PC & Mac). Experience with MS Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator as well as web design/programming
  • Excellent writing, communications and customer service skills
  • Work in a professional, confident manner and make decisions independently
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environment
  • Problem solve and execute ideas in timely manner
  • Work in team structure with other departments
  • Willingness to travel up to 5 days for major conventions /tradeshows, primarily domestic destinations. Also will travel up to two days for each customer events as needed. Some international travel may be required as well.
