Monterey Mushrooms is the country's largest and only national marketer of fresh mushrooms. In fact, the position we are looking to fill was last held by someone for 24 years until that person recently retired. This exciting opportunity is for a Regional Sales Manager to oversee the Southern CA and Vegas territories with the possible addition of Phoenix in the near future.

This position will be responsible for managing current business with existing customers and to grow market share, improve sales margins, prospect for new business in Retail, Foodservice and Processor sectors, assist and support distribution growth, support farm operations and to foster positive industry relations. 

The ideal candidate can work from home remotely, but will need to reside in the Los Angeles area of CA. You will also have established and key relationships within the Southern CA produce industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all daily sales activities with assigned customers through regular contact and visits to increase top line sales and revenues.
  • Prospect for new business in terms of Customers and Item Distribution. 
  • Consistently research the marketplace for new opportunities; Stay current on advancing technologies, competitor new product development, and competitor performance with the market.
  • Grow distribution business.
  • Maximize profit to company by settling adjustments, developing promotions, introducing new items, and maintaining prices.
  • Establish relationships in cross-functional departments such as Supply Chain, Farm Operations and other departments the company value proposition impacts.
  • Submit weekly reports. 
  • Develop and present business reviews.

  • Computer literacy required, including proficiency in standard business applications included in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Agribusiness-related field or a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Strong business, economic, and marketing background.
  • Must be geographically located to assigned customers.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with customers.
