We are currently looking for a Retail Sales Manager to join our winning team in Oxnard, CA.

As the Retail Sales Manager you are responsible for driving sales in retail grocery accounts to achieve volume, market share and fruit margin goals. This includes accountability for achieving short and longer-term sales objectives that are aligned with company goals as well as developing the tactics to drive action and attain desired business results.  You are also responsible for developing new retail grocery chain business opportunities by participating in sales prospecting, presentations and the initial set ups for new accounts. 

The successful Retail Sales Manager will coach and lead the sales team in the development of new business opportunities, as well as create value for current customers which correlates to high customer satisfaction.  They will develop weekly, monthly and annual key account business plans; understand and utilize industry data; and maintain relationships across functions and business units.

Requirements: 
  • Possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent training.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales and experience in selling produce; Avocados is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sales success in the Produce Industry, particularly Avocados and previous retail grocery account industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have outstanding analytical, account planning and influencing skills.    
  • Understanding of price and impact on profitability is critical.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Drive profitable growth, as measured by: attainment of plan revenue, margin, comp sales growth, positive contribution, and increased customer transactions.
  • Researches, identifies and develops new retail account opportunities (e.g. participates in trade shows and industry networking events, seeks business referrals, makes cold calls, etc.) and devises methods to take advantage of these opportunities. 
  • Timely implementation of approved Marketing programs as measured by: profitable sales growth and increased customer count.
  • Attain or exceed identified monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales volume and margin goals.
  • Utilize sales literature, and promotional materials strategically with company product strategies.
  • Report customer and competitive activities via submission of accurate and timely reports.
