Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Swedesboro, NJ.

As a Production Supervisor you are responsible for effectively planning, directing, scheduling and coordinating the day to day bagging operations to meet department and company objectives for quality, quantity, cost, and delivery including customer objectives and requirements.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 5 years work related experience within the Produce Industry, Distribution, or other related industry and 2 years supervisory background
  • Working experience using AS400  preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Able to work and make decisions with a sense of urgency, adhering to tight schedules, and simultaneously managing several projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a team to obtain high performance.  Able to coach, develop, and motivate others within and across the organization. 
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Able to understand the company’s organizational structure, operating philosophy, culture and lines of responsibility, authority, and communication
  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of problems from staffing to operational and customer problems
  • Proven ability to be result focused and translate priorities and actions into measurable results and hold self and others accountable to achieve individual, departmental, and company goals
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a strong ability to effectively identify problems by framing issues, leveraging data, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Plan, supervise, direct, and engage in daily bagging production operations while anticipating production problems, (i.e. material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc.) such that loss of work hours is minimized and production objectives are achieved efficiently.
  • Daily review and assess production inventory and staffing to insure that schedules are met.  Utilize skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to achieve production and quality objectives.  Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Oversee daily processing of fruit bins from the field.  Batch and pack out record completion, review, and data enter into AS400.
  • Consistently communicate and exchange timely information with other supervisors and others on interdepartmental problems or situations that develop regarding efficiency, fruit utilization, order scheduling, machine utilization, inventory, scrap, materials, manpower, etc.
  • Work with Operations Manager, Inventory, and Purchasing Departments to assure that all materials are ordered to keep manufacturing running smoothly.
  • Guide and assist staff in solving daily production problems such as inventory management, fruit quality and quantity, changes to scheduling and customer requirements.
  • Oversee and review employee training for each work assignment to assure safety in operation, quality compliance, and work efficiency.
  • Supervise departmental safety and sanitation/housekeeping practices.

  • Giro Bagging Machine – Bagging Machine
  • Forklifts – Heavy Equipment
  • Grade Out Line – Motorized Grading Table
  • Work with maintenance staff to assure that all manufacturing equipment is maintained properly (greased, lubed, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as requested.
