MEVI Avocados is a proud Mexican company with an international spirit. Founded in 1974 as a family-owned business by Don Javier Medina, who began his career in the industry as an avocado producer. In 1994, MEVI consolidated as a company and began commercializing its goods and bringing its passion for the avocado to other countries.

Today, MEVI’s products are present in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Spain, China and more. MEVI"s successful expansion into these complex markets was achieved through the introduction of innovative products that support a healthier lifestyle.

MEVI’s operations include avocado packing plants in Michoacán and Jalisco, which also entails a state-of-the art extra virgin avocado oil plant; a distribution center located in South Texas, and representative offices in both Mexico and the United States.

We are currently looking for a self-starter, enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team remotely in the US.

As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for selling Mexican avocados year-round to retail, wholesale & foodservice customers across the US. You will also be responsible for identifying, managing, developing, maintaining and growing customer accounts. As a Sales Associate you will have excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Preferred 5 years of produce sales experience
  • Spanish a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Existing book of business is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Avocado category a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business technologies
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of team
  • Customer service focus
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Flexibility to travel to locations including, but not limited to: south Texas and Mexico
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • New account development
  • Contract sales/FOB sales/program selling
  • Solicit new business through outside and internal channels
  • Management of virtual inventory
  • Create market updates
  • Sales planning & market forecasting
  • Order entry and tracking of shipments
  • Ad and promotional planning
  • AR management
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management
