Inside Sales Representative

Job Description: 

We’re a family owned distributor/wholesaler who works hand in hand with our local farmers!

We’re seeking a highly-motivated, personable and experienced produce sales professional to join our team as an Inside Sales Representative in Westwego, LA.

As an Inside Sales Representative you will be primarily responsible for selling our products to existing customers while generating new accounts. These sales will be created by cold calling potential clients using our existing database. You are also responsible for following through with any orders that you place, ensuring that our records are up to date and that customers are satisfied with their orders.

Requirements: 
  • 5 years' of produce sales experience
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of sales
  • Knowledge of customer service and basic business principles
  • Experience in making presentations
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets
  • PC Literate-Competency with full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated
  • Professional appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Seek out and establish new contacts
  • Gather marketplace information
  • Prepare sales action plans and strategies
  • Meet with customers on occasion; may have to take a laptop to get the orders – run hot shots of produce to satisfy your clients
  • Negotiate with clients
  • Develop sales proposals
  • Create purchase orders, sales orders, and invoices
  • Follow-up on orders placed
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports
  • Call customers and vendors
  • Accounts payable tracking
  • Support the creation of presentations for sales and executive team members
  • Coordinate event/trade show activities and promotional materials
  • Communicate with outside advertising agencies
  • Special projects assigned by the manager
